Once a year Association members vote to elect the Board. The Board represent the members and are accountable to them.
How does the Association select its representatives?
Board Composition
- Board members volunteer for a term of three years; if willing and re-elected, they can serve one further three-year term
- The Board has a maximum of nine and minimum of five members
- The majority of Board members must be medical
- The Board can co-opt up to four members for their specific expertise (e.g. to represent another operational centre, or to bring financial expertise)
- The president of the Board is elected by voting members after nominations by the Board at the general assembly
