Finance and Service Department
The Head of Finance runs the Finance and Services Department, whose objective is to provide central support for the smooth running of the office and strategic control for the good stewardship of the section. The department comprises 3 functions – finance, IT & office administration (the service point). In addition to the Head of Finance, there are 4 staff, as well as a functional line to a member of the HR department and currently 2 interns.
The Head of Finance sits on the Management Team of MSF-UK and is a member of the Resources Platform.
Company Secretary
To provide legal support to the Board of Trustees, ensuring compliance with both Company and Charity Law. The board meets approximately every 6 weeks. The majority of trustees are medical or para-medical and most have previously worked for MSF in the field.
Job purpose
Responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the UK charity. Provide leadership and coordination in the business planning, accounting, budgeting efforts and administration of the UK section of MSF.
Through management of the Service Department ensure a consistently high level of support to the offices in London & Dublin, facilitating the UK section in its work and ensuring proper stewardship of UK assets.
